Response of the CLLS Arbitration Committee to the Law Commission’s Consultation Paper on the Review of The Arbitration Act 1996. The committee largely supported the proposals in the consultation paper. While acknowledging the importance in arbitration and more generally of ensuring respect for diversity and equality, and supporting the important initiatives referred to by the Law Commission in the Consultation Paper, the committee expressed some practical reservations, and made suggestions, concerning the Law Commission's proposal relating to this point.
