More on silk...
Congratulating the crop of 96 barristers whose appointments to silk were announced last week, David Hughes highlighted “the stat that no one wants to mention”. The barrister at 30 Park Place chambers in Cardiff was concerned by the absence of any civil law specialist practitioners from Wales.
Meanwhile, alongside the 96 shortly to get kitted out with silk jackets, the Ministry of Justice announced the names of eight individuals awarded honorary KC status – given to those whose work outside the courtroom has shaped the law or legal profession.
Colin Passmore, former senior partner of Simmons & Simmons and the current chairman of the City of London Law Society was included on the list.
