Denyer scholarship launched

A scholarship fund in memory of Stephen Denyer, a City lawyer who went on to a senior role at the Law Society, has been launched to help those aspiring to qualify as social welfare solicitors in the North East. 

The Stephen Denyer Scholarship, funded by a £50,000 family donation, will pay for four employees at the North East Law Centre, in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, over four years and for each to undertake the solicitors’ qualifying exams. It has been set up by the City of London Law Society, the City of London Solicitors Company, the Social Welfare Solicitors Qualification Fund and the North East Law Centre in partnership with the Denyer family. The fund aims to match this commitment by funding an additional North East candidate annually for the next four years.
