Joint Law Society and CLLS comments - Amendments to the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill - Hxl
The CLLS and Law Society have commented on the proposed amendments to the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill 2022 to be moved in Grand Committee by Lord Johnson of Lainston, which are understood to be supported by HM Government. The comments cover such issues as verification of registrable beneficial owners and managing officers of overseas entities, changes to information in a company’s register of members, a duty to notify the company of required information on becoming a member, penalties for failing to notify company of required information, and powers to require information from members and on informing members of the relevant changes in the Bill if enacted.
